Situated in a dense area on a relatively small plot size of 45’x45’, this site was indeed a challenge. Client had a requirement of a lift and comfortable staircase which made the design even more challenging. We approached the design by segregating the vertical circulation to the south east corner of the building and opening up the living and bedrooms areas to the North facing Road for better light and ventilation. The lasercut fundermax screen forms an important façade element and also gives privacy to the family from the busy road. The stepped terraces which the common areas open out add breakout green spaces at every level. As the humble tones of beige merge with rustic walnut and warm rays seep in through every niche, this residence is a contemporary take on imbibing nature into the built space. Hints of tree barks and dense foliage formulated as minimalistic panels engulf the spaces, creating an environment that cradles its residents. The intricately detailed apertures that mimic vegetation generate a play between light and shadows, creating an immersive experience like no other. The integrated voids wash the habitable spaces with an expanse of the exterior, making the experience of commuting through the spaces more engaging. The raw tones and textures intertwine with the sharp details of contemporary elegance, creating an environment that uplifts visual harmony in every corner.
